Victims of justice to be compensated as from next month

Legal sources from the finance ministry revealed that they completed an executive decree dealing withy the appropriate procedures for the compensations issued by the Supreme Court in favor of victims of preventive detention.

• After being discussed by the ministry of justice few days ago, the government is set to sign the decree today in order to start the implementation of the law.
• Our sources reveal that some 56 thousand victims are concerned by the operation. The approximation of the number is due to the absence of a clear census s of the victims that must be done by the relevant institutions.
• Most of the victims were top managers in various national companies that went bankrupt, and were put in jail during the nineties as part of a large campaign called “clean hands” , while the others were simple citizens sentenced by law , but found innocent afterwards.
