“We are paid for our time in reciting the Koran, not for the Koran itself”: Abdelbasset's son

Everyone must know that reciting the Koran needs efforts, according to a famous Egyptian sheikh's son.

• “I don’t agree with those who said that sheiks reciting the Koran must not get paid for this job,” said Yasser Abdelbasset Abdessamed, Abdelbassed Abdessamed’s son.
• He told Echorouk that reciting the Koran in Egypt is an accredited job and sheiks have their professional cards. There is also a union for them including more then 1,500 members in charge of defending their social and professional rights.
• Another famous Egyptian sheik’s son said started reciting the Koran since he was a child when his father took him to parties where he recited the Koran in Egypt.
• Seddik Mahmoud Seddik El Minchaoui, Mahmoud Seddik El Minchaoui’s nephew said he was impressed by how much his father was welcomed and honored by Egyptians.
• “Because of that, I decided to be like him.”
• Sheikh Yasser Abdelbasset who attended the second edition of the Arab Conference on Koran reciters in Algeria untitled ‘Sheikh Abdelbasset Abdessamed’ said he did not listen to any Algerian reciting the Koran in a well-done way.       
• On the other hand, he praised Algerian reciters’ good level in Koran recitation.
• He thanked Algeria for holding the second Arab conference on Koran reciters and he was very delighted when he received the invitation to attend it.
• He said he liked Algeria which he visited for the first time and considered the conference as a gratitude to his late father Abdelbasset Abdessamed.
