We will not sell Cristiano Ronaldo, says Manchester United chief
David Gill, the Manchester United chief executive, has moved to allay fears that Cristiano Ronaldo may leave Old Trafford in the coming months, by insisting the club will not sell their prized asset. The Portugal winger may have been partly to blame for persistent rumours about his future by speaking on several occasions of his desire “one day†to play in Spain but, Gill insists Ronaldo is going nowhere.
Asked if United would be keeping hold of the PFA Player of the Year, Gill said: “Without doubt we are. He’s got four more years [on his contract] until 2012, he’s been with us for five years and we’re sure he’ll be with us for many years to come.
