Winds drive European air balloons carrying seven athletes to the Algerian coasts

Six Europeans fell Sunday at about 16:30 pm while they were on board of their air balloons in the region of Azefoune and Tigzirt, Tizi Ouzou, east of Algiers. 

• Sources from the region told Echorouk that these European athletes are from Belgium, Netherlands and Finland, as their air balloons fell in the coasts of the locality.

• Two men landed in “Tazroust”, 7 km from the city of Azefoune, east of Bejaia, east of Algeria. They told the security services and citizens there that they are 7 athletes who embarked on board of air balloons for a trip from Finland to Spain, however, after about 24 hours in then wind and storms they lost their way in the air and the wind pushed them towards the south and they found themselves in the Algerian coasts.

• In the meanwhile they were taken to the security centre in order to investigate them, particularly since they penetrated the Algerian waters without an authorization.
