Ziani’s reprieve expected pending FIFA’s ruling

It is widely expected that the Algerian International Football player Karim Ziani will take part in the first match of the 3rd round of the combined 2010 Africa of Nations/World Cup qualifiers slated to kick off in March 2009.

• It’s worth recalling that the seasoned Algerian midfielder was booked by the Referee during the breath-taking 2nd round qualifier which opposed earlier this month Algeria and Liberia in Monrovia.
•  According to sources from the Algerian Football Federation -FAF-, there is every likelihood that Karim Ziani will  play the next qualifier as all sanctions recorded in the previous competitive round will be automatically rescinded, they argued.
• However, FAF officials are still awaiting a final ruling on the matter by the World Football Governing body FIFA in the next few days.
