10 thousand people admitted to emergencies in 10 days

10 people in average are admitted to the emergencies daily since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan mostly due to over consumption of food and drinks.

•  The number of cases has hit the record of 10 thousand patients over the 10 first days of Ramadan, figures have revealed.

•  

• The president of the National Association for Health Promotion ( FOREM), Professor Mustapha Khiati, has indicated to Echourouk that most of the pathologies are due to hypertension or blood sugar troubles.

•  

• The other cases are related to traffic accidents or body injuries caused by caused by fights with blades. The medical personnel is so overwhelmed that the patients do not receive appropriate treatments.

• The communication cell of Mustapha Bacha hospital here in Algiers has revealed that the emergencies have admitted numerous children who did fasting for the first time but couldn’t resist high temperatures and long hours (15) without eating or drinking.
