A total of 100 Algerians of the Salafist Movement, and who were studying at the Yemeni Institute of Modern Science and Religion in Saada, stuck in Yemen after the Houthis took control over Saada and the Institute, Echorouk reliable sources said.

“They are afraid of security prosecution when they will return to their homeland. They asserted that they do not hold a Jihadist thought, and that they were in Yemen for the purpose of study at the Institute only, but they knew of the arrest and prosecution of all those who returned from Yemen to the homeland, which made them feel confused, and face an uncertain fate in Yemen after the closure of the Institute, and the lack of shelter for them in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

They called upon the General Commander of the National Gendarmerie and the Director General of the National Security, to intervene on their behalf, and relieve them of the security follow-up, because many of them had no extreme ideas, and do not accept rebellion.

“Six Algerians were even perished in the war between the Shiites and the people of Saada. We were forced to defend ourselves, and few of us went there for Jihad and died there”.
