11 Algerian Hajjis Died in Mecca, Official

As many as 11 Algerian Hajjis (pilgrims) died during the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, comparing to 20 Algerian Hajjis died last year, the National Office for Hajj and Omra (ONHO) said.

 

 

The Hajj of this year has seen an increase in the number of aged Hajjis that complicated the task of the organizers, who suffered deficit in terms of the accompanying people, and consequently there were many lost cases among the aged Hajjis, especially in Mina.

In this regard, the director of ONHO, Barbara Cheikh, old Echorouk reporter that the majority of 11 death cases hit aged pilgrims suffering chronic diseases.

Mr Barbara specified that two Hajjis died in Mina, while two others in Arafat, adding that four other pilgrims who are suffering fatigue are enduring medical treatment in hospital.

Pilgrims are to start returning home as by 11 and 12 November from Jeddah airport, and then 17 November from Medina airport.
