115 cases of terrorism before a criminal court east of Algiers

The court of Boumerdes, east of Algiers, announced on the list of the criminal cases to be disposed during the next session which will open on the 2nd November until the 21st December, as the judicial council will address 198 criminal cases, including 115 cases of terrorism, mostly about funding and supporting terrorist groups.

 

  • Other cases have been referred for the criminal court of Algiers, most notably the issue of smuggling arms from Bejaia to Boumerdes, east of Algiers, where nine people are involved, including the leader of Al Fath battalion Omar Ben Titraoui, also nicknamed Yahia Abu Khotheima.

  • The details of the case back to July 7, 2008, when the accused “A.M” 60 was arrested in Boumerdes, following information at the security services of Algiers in coordination with the judicial police of Bire Khadem, Algiers.

  • According to the confessions of the accused, he is linked to an armed terrorist group since 1993, as he was initially in contact with the terrorist Kouikeh Abdelhamid, who charged him of follow the news of the region and monitor the movements of the military forces as well as ensuring supplies and ammunition for the terrorists.

  • He recognised also that he met some terrorists including the brothers Ben Titraoui, as he was assigned to the acquisition of arms with the support of his brother in law “CH.A” who met him in the village of Tagrite in Bejaia, east of Algeria.

  • The accused “M.A” revealed on a second deal about selling a pistol to the terrorists after 15 days only from the first one. In 2007 the accused led another deal receiving orders from Ben Titraoui, as he met with the accused “S.R” in Bejaia in order to buy three pistols of 7.62 cents at 14 million dinars per one and then delivered them to the armed terrorists in the region of Tijelabine in Boumerdes, east of Algiers.
