12.000 Syrians Escape War, only 3400 live Legally in Algeria

Algerian Government decided to help the Syrian refugees, through the services of the interior Ministry, Ministry of Solidarity and Foreign Ministry, by preparing a set of procedures that ensure accommodation and assistance until their return to Syria.

The executive branch also decided to take parallel action to stop the huge ‭flow of the Syrian refugees to ‭ ‬ Algeria, ‭in a time official figures show that their number reach on June 12.000, including‭ ‬only 3400 who live in ‭ ‬legal positions. ‬

Reliable sources told Echorouk that detailed reports on the status of the Syrian refugees to Algeria reached the Foreign Ministry for study, and among the data contained in these reports, the number of refugees who fled from civil war in Syria, which axceeded 12.000, adding that this figure is a result of ‭the bilateral agreements that were signed between the two countries‬, and ‭the facilities that were provided ‭‬for the movement of Syrians from and to ‭Algeria, ‭including the visa procedures‭. ‬

Apart from these reports, the Interior Ministry, in coordination with the Ministry of National Solidarity, launched a set of special measures to provide assistance for the Syrians who live in the streets, as it will consider the possibility of accommodation in schools, and special shelters, with the possibility to exploite other headquarters, on the grounds that ‭the option of opening ‭the schools remain subject to the start of the school year‭.
