130 Algerian illegal Immigrants Deported to Romanian Death Detentions

Echorouk contacted, on Wednesday, a number of Algerian illegal immigrants , who are detained in Bucarest, Romania, at Otto Benni detention, where there are more than 130 Algerians who suffer poor health conditions, in a country known of the high rates of poverty.In addition to another detention located on the Hungarian borders with Romania called the detention of ‬Arab, refering to the detainees’ of Arab origins, where Algerian illegal immigrants, who were deported from European countries, especially from France, Switzerland, Germany and Netherlands. ‬

The detained illegal immigrants said that most of them launch a hunger strike, and are from different regions of the country, adding that their detention exceeded now two months, without being deported to Algeria via Istanbul airport, as their fears began on the Christmas, when they discovered that they are semi-isolated from the rest of the world.

In addition to another detention located on the Hungarian borders with Romania called the detention of ‬Arab, refering to the detainees’ of Arab origins, where Algerian illegal immigrants, who were deported from European countries, especially from France, Switzerland, Germany and Netherlands. ‬nce of ‭ health conditions, especially since prisoners are given the meals that are not consumed even by animals.

They said many of them are rest of food ollected from the garbage bans of Bucharest, a city where people are poor and suffer starvation, let alone detained illegal immigrants from several Arab and African countries, not to mention the cold weather in the camps without heating, where each ward brings together about ten people.

Algerian consulate in Bucarest provides only promises, waiting for humanitarian aid of European Charity Associations, because what these associations provide is enough to deport at least two hundred Algerian illegal immigrants, that were detained in Romania, contrary to Tunisians and Moroccans, who were deported without any problem, as their countries’ embassies.

The majority of illegal immigrants in Romania, who emigrated illegally through the Istanbul and entered Greece by sea illegally, are dispersed in many countries of the world, and some of them stayed three years in Europe before being arrested and transferred to the detentions of Bucarest.

All those who talked to Echorouk said they were waiting for their plane back to Algeria after they had suffered for years in immigration which had stolen their age and health.
