130000 workers to launch a massive strike on 3 and 4 January 2012

Algiers- National Council of the Professional Workers and Security Agents of the Education Sector will launch a massive strike on 3 and 4 January 2012.

Departments of Education will also organize a sit in the same date.

Over 130.000 Workers of education decide to launch a massive strike due to the lack of response by the Ministry of National Education to their demands, and to renew their demands in the integration according to the Executive Decree N° 08/315.

They also called upon the government to improve their material and professional demands, including lifting of the wages that still range between 13.000 and 24.000 AD.

Education workers also call-for re-classification. The Union of Professional Workers call upon the authorities to allow its members to do their job in concordance with the applicable laws, and integrate the category of agents of control and protection, and devote a special law for determining their tasks, which remain outstanding.
