Libyan authorities released 17 Algerian prisoners. This action is part of the deal to exchange prisoners between Algeria and Libya.

The prisoners were accused of minor offences, such as illegal immigration. Most of them were sentenced to two years imprisonment or less, and spent half the sentence. They were granted amnesty by the Libyan authorities.
