Gambians were beaten by the Algerian national squad Friday with 1-0 as part of the fourth round in the preliminary heats of the world and African cup of nations’ competitions.

Algeria’s unique goal was scored by Antar Yahia in the 33rd minute making the national team temporarily ranked first with 6 points against Gambia, 5 points against Senegal and 2 points against Liberia.

Senegal will face Liberia Saturday in Dakar in the second match of Group 6.
