2016 BAC Leaks: “Wrongdoers Accused of Disclosing State Secrets”
The main accused in the case of the leaks of subjects for the 2016 baccalaureate exam are to face heavy charges.
Indeed, they are accused of divulging state secrets, and acting against national security, which can result in a conviction of at least 15 years in prison.
According to our sources, the Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Tayeb Louh, was instructed by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal to order prosecutors, in their respective territorial jurisdiction, to apply the law with severity against those involved in the leaks of BAC subjects in 2016.
And henceforward, charges qualifications are quite heavy against the main defendants, since the disclosure of state secrets and the harming of its interests relate only to members who have failed in their duty in intelligence with a foreign power or senior executives of the nation at the top of the pyramid of the state.
In this context, lawyer Boudjemaâ Ghachir, clarified in a statement to “Echorouk” that these heavy charges will be applied only against two people, who are executives at the national examinations and competitive contests Office (Onec), and who are accused in the scandal of leaked topics of the 2016 Baccalaureate exam.
According to Echorouk’s sources, the Research Section of the National Gendarmerie, responsible for the investigation of the leaks, was able to identify several other Onec officials involved in the provinces of Algiers, Boumerdès, Tipasa, Setif and in certain directorates of education, particularly in Algiers, bringing the figure to 120 people who have been identified through their IP.
