22 Illegal Migrant Candidates Intercepted in Annaba Coasts

Coast guards at Annaba western province have intercepted 22 illegal migrants attempting to debark to Sardinia, in Italy.

It is about 22 youngsters, aged between 22 and 30 years old, hailed from Annaba, El-Tarf and Skikda western provinces. They were on board a handmade wooden boat, taking the destination of Sardinia island, southern Italy.

Their family members have informed police about the attempt, before a unit of coat guards of Annaba launched a reconnaissance operation, concluded by intercepting the wooden boat carrying 22 youngsters.

It is the second time in less than 24 hours that a group of illegal migrants to be intercepted in the coasts of Annaba, as 30 youngsters were already arrested Friday.

The illegal migrant candidates were endured medical tests, and referred to general prosecutor at the Court of Annaba, who summoned them to be heard before the court.
