23 injured in a terrorist attack south of Algeria

A terrorist attack targets here on Saturday the headquarters of the National Gendarmerie in Tamanrasset (Southern Algeria).

• A car bomb explodes Saturday morning near the headquarters of the National Gendarmerie in Tamenrasset (South of Algeria),  leaving many deaths, according to initial testimonies, as security services were deployed all around the place.

• The terrorist attack left 23 injured, including 15 gendarmes, 5 elements of the Civil Protection who were on duty, and three citizens who were passing near the headquarters of the National Gendarmerie, services of the National Gendarmerie told the APS.

• The same services added that the terrorist attack was carried out at about 07:45 am by a terrorist on board of a “Toyota Station” tergeting the main entrance to the building of the National Gendarmerie. 

• All injured were taken to the hospital of Tamanrasset.Security services said all injured do not suffer dangerous wounds, except one gendarme who is placed under medical control.
