Secretary General of the union of Algeria’s energy group Sonatrach Abdelkrim Lamouri said 24,000 workers’ wages will be increased by 10 to 30 percent.

• On the sidelines of an extraordinary general assembly of the Regional department of production section in Hassi Rmel (south of Algeria), Lamouri indicated that the union gained approval on 4 requests out of 8.
• According to him, July 23rd will be the date of discussions about the remaining claims.
• The same unionist said that the only option is to go on strikes or raise the issue to justice in case of negative response or repudiation of the agreement with the general department. “It has been evading for 10 years from legitimate demands of Sonatrach’s workers.”
•  A total of 200 technicians have recently left the state-owned company and joined foreign ventures which gave them salaries not less than 8,000 Euros per month.
