30 Corruption Files on Bouteflika's table
National Commission for Corruption Prevention and Fight is expected to send, here on Tuesday, its annual report to the President, which includes 30 files of corruption, on top “Sonatrach 2” scandal, which includes more than 150 suspicious transactions that violate the laws of the legislation at Sonatrach branches in Algeria and abroad.
Echorouk sources said the National Commission for Corruption Prevention and Fight, ended, a week ago, from the drafting of the annual report to be submitted to the President of the Republic, which included 30 dossiers on many sectors, like Youth and Sports, Energy and Mines.
Most important file that was prepared by the report is the “Sonatrach 2” scandal, as the National Commission for the fight against corruption in coordination with 50 judges from the Council of accounting, that helped it in investigations, all uncovered 150 suspicious deals that violated the laws of the legislation in force, and that were carried out by the branch Sonatrach inside and outside Algeria.
The report also looked to the scandals of SONELGAZ, including the contracts that were signed by the company at a total value which exceeds 1.5 billion dollars, with the Italian companies, for the construction of power generation projects, as well as involving it in the issues of public deals which violated the legislation, in order to give privileges to some parties, and employment by mutual consent and wasting public money, which involved the General Manager of the company SONELGAZ, the Secretary General, human resource managers, finance and a number of employees.
Same report uncovered cases of corruption, which affected NAFTAL group, which are primarily related to the theft and depletion of fuel, the conclusion of suspicious transactions, inflating bills, waste of public funds and the indiscriminate employment on the basis of nepotism and kinship, as well as the receiving bribes and permanent and sustainable theft in the company.
National Commission for the prevention of and combating corruption has been developed under the Anti-Corruption Law issued on 20 February 2006, and is intended to implement the so-called national strategy in the fight against corruption, which is an independent administrative authority in place of the President of the Republic.
