500.000 Algerian pupils dropped out from schools in 2010
The National Union of Societies of Pupils’ Parents sent an urgent message to the Minster of Education asking him to intervene and reintegrate thousands of pupils who have been expelled from schools in various stages during the school year 2010-2011.

The same spokesman told Echorouk that the Ministry of Education tolerated the expulsion of more than 500.000 pupils from schools, in order to relieve the pressure on the sections that attract between 25 and 30 pupils in order to improve the conditions of schooling and achieve positive results with respect to rates of success in the Bac exams.
“We called upon the Ministry of Education to send instructions to the managers of schools mandating the return of pupils expelled, especially for those under the age of 16, after it enacted a law to prevent the expulsion of any pupil under 16 in primary and second phases”.
