5000 Algerians implicated in Crime during Three Months:Report
Reports prepared by the services of the National Gendarmerie and Security show details about the rise of violence in Algeria from year to year, particularly the crime of intentional assault and hitting induced by force, and by using various weapons, which often lead to permanent disabilities and impairments, and in some cases lead to murder.
Judicial authorities jailed during the first four months of 2012 over 5000 people following their implication in acts of violence.
The same report, obtained by Echorouk, warned of the growing phenomenon of violence in the Algerian society, and provided alarming figures about the large spread of the phenomenon in the urban and rural areas, confirming the emergence of criminal gangs which want to dump Algeria in a spiral of violence.
The proceeds of the first four months of the 2012, prepared by the various regional units of the gendarmerie at the level of the 48 states, show that, at least 1807 cases of intentional hitting and injured, led to the arrest of 2530 people, including 2390 males and 140 females, and resulted in jailing 2034 people, including 496 people who were temporary released, after the trial of those implicated in crime before the judicial authorities.
The wilayas which noticed the largest number of cases of intentional assault and hitting are Setif (east of Algeria), and Oran (west) with 121 cases, Mila (east)105 cases, Algiers (103), Batna (east) 101, Tiaret (west) 88 and Bejaia (east) with 75 cases .
The report also shows that cases of intentional assault and hitting that were previewed last year has increased compared to those of 2010, reaching in 2011 at least 8978 cases which resulted in the arrest of 11973 people who were implicated in crime, as security servies arrested 2150 and release 982 people in the same year.
In 2010, 7476 people were implicated in 4988 cases of crime, 2037 were jailed temporary and 5439 were freed.
For their part, services of the national security, warned of the growing violence in the society through providing frightening figures about spread of the phenomenon in urban areas, as they examined during the four first months of the 2012, more than 3000 cases of intentional hitting and injuring using all means, in which 3500 people were implicated, including 200 woman .
