7000 Soldiers to Secure Oil Companies Southern Algeria

National People’s Army and various security services reinforced their presence in the south, where about 7000 soldiers joined the Algerian borders with Mali, at a time 3000 of them are distributed in the wide combing operations of the desert and the points extending from Ouargla to the maximum border points, particularly ‭the ‭ ‬ pathways of smugglers ‭and armed groups, especially in the east of M’nia in Ghardaia,‭ Ain Salah in Tamanrasset, while security forces tihten‭ ‬control ‭on the large oil companies of the‬ country‭.

The operation comes within the framework of restrictions on terrorist groups following the recent bombings that have affected all the regions of Tamanrasset on last March, and the leadership of the regional gendarmerie last Friday, in order to detect some back up cells, and where units of the national popular forces of the fourth and sixth regions in more than one point ‭over some strategic ‭places in ‭the depth of the desert.

In this context, services of the National Gendarmerie and police imposed, since the last incident, tight security measures, by monitoring the entrances and outlets of the city Ouargla, Touggourt and Hassi Messaoud with the inspection of vehicles especially the suspicious and doubtful over the main national and regional roads, and to secure the headquarters of police, gendarmerie and customs, and the vicinity of the urbanism of the cities mentioned above, by the different gendarmerie teams, which has stepped up the check points and mobile patrols, not to mention the intensification of barriers at the entrance of the desert areas and monitoring of the African migrants ‭who are present with large numbers.

On the other hand, armed units continue to secure oil companies, including the bases of life inhabited by foreigners, which have tight reinforcements because of security fears that may affect the headquarters of these companies.
