7,500 quintals of rotten wheat at the stores of farming cooperatives of grain and dry beans

Head of the municipality of Sfizef in Sidi Belabes, Sahouri Mohamed, exposed a scandal on storing 7,500 quintals of grains and dry beans at the level of his municipality, coming from Mehdia region, after been stored there for almost three years.

The same official told Echorouk that confirmed information reached him about storing quantities of rotten grain and dry beans at the store of the farming cooperative, that pushed him to form a mixed committee that includes representatives of the directorates that are concerned with investigating in the matter, at a time many of the media speak about the news of the rotten grain that reached Sidi  and which represent more than 23,000 quintals in the stores of farming cooperatives for grain and dry beans, that are situated in Mostapha Ben Ibrahim and the municipalities of Sidi Hamadouche and Oued Safioune, noting that the price of one quintal of grain is equivalent to 4,500 dinars, making the suspicious quantity with large financial value.
The case raised a state of high alert among authorities and all the specialised services, which may have open investigations to uncover the circumstances of the case, and identify the parties that are responsible on promoting rotten grain, parallel to taking samples of it to make it subject to analysis at the level of the regional laboratory that is belonging to the Ministry of Commerce, to make sure whether it is really corrupt.
