8 Women Turn Into Criminality Each Day in Algeria

As many as 246 women were involved in criminal acts nationwide during September, a report conducted by the National Gendarmerie services concluded.

The report shows that the NG services examined 430 cases, resulting in the arrest of 7282 suspects, of whom 246 are women (3.8 percent), and 346 are underage (75.4 percent).

The figures indicate that 8 women, at least, are involved each day in a criminal act, noting that 3.8 percent of the aforementioned cases were perpetuated by women. 

Oraganized crime cases represent 18.43 percent of the overall offenses, while 338 cases were related to narcotic trafficking, leading to the arrest of 525 people, 48.67 of whom are under 30, noting that detectives seized 883.9 kg of treated cannabis and 4392 hallucinogenic. 

NG detectives further examined 18 cases related to banknotes fraud, in September, leading to the arrest of 39 people.

The same month saw the arrest of 460 illegal migration candidates, 133 of whom were sent to custody, the report concluded.
