Gaid Salah: “ANP combat readiness programs require all-time operational availability”

Vice Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army (ANP), Army Corps General, Ahmed Gaid Salah, said Tuesday in Tindouf in soth-western Algeria that the supreme aim of the national Armed Forces’ combat readiness programs is meant to achieve “permanent availability for action in order to face up to any contingency”.

“The purpose of the supreme objective for the smooth implementation of combat readiness programs, with quality continuous training, is to achieve a permanent operational readiness of the armed forces,” General Ahmed Gaid Salah said in a speech during a broad-based meeting with managers and staff of the Operational Sector of South Tindouf, followed via videoconferencing by the entire units of the 3rd Military Region.

General Gaïd Salah, who has been on an inspection visit since Monday to the 3rd Military Region under the monitoring of combat readiness program for the year 2015-2016, “commended the ANP’s sustained efforts to upgrade its combat readiness, as an essential tool to maintain the desired state of this combat readiness at its highest level,” said a statement from the National Defense Ministry (MDN).

In this context, General Gaid Salah hailed “the national armed forces’ constant vigilance in duly protecting the country’s borders and national sovereignty as part of their bounden missions in line with the guidelines issued to this effect by the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense,” he underlined.

On this occasion, he went on to say, “I urge you all to be fully aware of the obligations of these lofty missions and to carry them out with the greatest will and perseverance, in all circumstances and all situations”, General Gaid Salah underscored.”

For his part, the Commander of the 3rd Military Region, Major General Said Chengriha, reaffirmed in his address “the unflagging commitment of the Region’s military staff and their absolute dedication to the fulfillment of their entire duties with honor and pride for the sake of the country’s security and stability,” the same source added.
