Pilots’ National Syndicate, which belongs to the General Union of Algerian Workers, in coordination with the rest of the sectors’ syndicates, lifted a black report to the General Manager of Air Algerie, Mohamed Abdou Bouderbala, that criticizes the great pressure that confronts pilots and flight attendants, because of the lack of means and support, which resulted in the recent scandal “I Decided” in Ahmed Ben Balla Airport in Oran (western Algeria), and which raised a lot of controversy.

Pilots’ syndicate spoke about a deficit, which is equivalent to 200 pilots in the company, which is a problem that would push a lot of pilots to the error and anger, arguing that over 400 pilots are unable to ensure the transport of all Algerians in a huge fleet and intensive program that excludes weekly, monthly and night rest hours that are contained in the International Aviation Organization rules.

Syndical sources told Echorouk that recent incidents of Air Algerie, forced the syndicate to move to prove that all the staff of this company are exposed to the error of the flight attendant in Oran airport, the woman who becomes popular for the public as Madame “I Decided”, as a result of the large pressure in which flight attendants work, and they benefit from 5 days off a month, contrary to the International Civil Aviation Organization, which sets the rest days with 10 days at a rate of work of 36 hours per week and 120 hours per month, but this is not applicable for Air Algerie, which obliges employees to work under an intensive program that is applied before its date by 25 days of the flight date.

Same sources indicate that the pilots left Houari Boumedienne airport after hours of delay, and a large pressure at the station across the flights that extend for 6 hours and sometimes they are forced to return in the same day of arrival, due to the large decrease in the number of employees in respect for the execution of the  program from which the customer benefits, and which violates the rules of the International Civil Aviation Organization, knowing that in case of any error, the first responsible in front of everyone, including the administration will be the pilot, while it talked about technical errors in the plane on a daily basis, especially when the Air Algeria fleet was archaic before renovating it, adding that there remain only 4 scrap planes.
