Germany investigates into abuse against Algerian national

German authorities opened an investigation on the case of an Algerian national who was tortured by policemen.

German interior minister Thomas de Maizière asked for immediate details about incidents which took place in reception centers, according to a release issued by the German embassy in Algiers.

The release quoted the minister saying local authorities should quickly explain what happened in reception centers. He warned to make concerned people pay the price for breaching the law.

An official spokesman also asked for immediate details about the incident, saying that German is a humanitarian country and respects people’s dignity.

This comes as images and videos posted on the net showed an Algerian young man being tortured and beaten by two German policemen inside a refugees center western Germany.
