Presidential Elections 2014: Bouteflika's Fourth Term opponents protest in Algiers

President Bouteflika’s Fourth Term opponents protest on Saturday, but policemen clashed with them and cordoned Algiers streets since early hours of the day and arrested 150 people including journalists, lawyers and university students.

Protesters condemned the Fourth Term saying; “No to a 4th term”, “Algeria free and democratic”, “We want Djamila Bouhired in the street”.

Audin Square and Central Post noticed a mass of Protesters on Saturday morning, as large number of policemen , and gendarmerie wearing official and civil cloths cordoned the streets leading to the square from Didouche Mourad, central university until the Martyrs Square.

1000 policemen were scattered over the streets, and they focused on Audin square where the protest was organized.

Dozens of cars and armors of police were prepared to face hundreds of citizens who presented various categories of society in order to condemn the Fourth Term, as they tried to raid Audin Square to walk towards the central post, but a blue wall of anti riots forces forced them to retreat.
