Algeria calls for halt to violence in Syria

Algeria called for a halt to violence in Syria and the opening of an “inclusive” political dialogue without foreign interference, FM Mourad Medelci said Tuesday in Geneva.

“Algeria called for an end to all unacceptable and condemnable violence in Syria, where it comes, and the opening of an inclusive political dialogue”, Medelci said in a speech during a high level segment of the 19^th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva (Switzerland).

“A dialogue should be provided with a sustainable solution from the free choice of Syrians in respect of the unity and sovereignty of Syria, without foreign interference. Algeria participated in the development and progress of the Arab League initiative that should continue its mission with the goals to which I have just referred”, he added.
