Hadjira meets her father after 12 years missing

It was a “Wonderful Day” for Hadjira Rekik who finally met her family members after 12 years of missing. She arrived yesterday to Algiers Airport coming from Egypt where she has been living.

She has been warmly welcomed by her grand brother and her cousin who took her to Constantine to finally see her sick father.

Hadjira 17 years has shared tears when she saw her family members in the airport hall, saying “Thanks God, I have finally seen my country, seen my family.”

Echorouk attended the heartwarming get-together moment. Hadjira said at her arrival with tears on eyes and chin: “I’d like to thank all those who helped me to find my father, including the consult of Algeria to Egypt and Ms Dalila Boulainine, as well as Echorouk, of course.” adding that “I’ll live in Algeria but will never forget my second country Egypt.”

Hadjira was born in Libya from an Algerian father and an Egyptian mother. Her parents divorced when she was a little kid. Her mother decided to take her to Egypt. When the father tried to get his daughter back, his ex-wife told him that Hadjira died and showed him a fake death certificate to prove it. Hadjira was told by her mother that her father died, too.

“Well, I understand what my mummy did; it reflects her desire to keep me close to her, but she has had to know that one day I’d seek the truth and look for my daddy!” Hadjira said, adding “I’ve always believed that my father is still alive, that’s why I posted a search-add on Echorouk.”
