A delegation of Algerian managers operating in the Silicon Valley soon in Algiers to promote the start-ups

A delegation of some forty researchers and Algerian engineers working as managers in big multinational corporations operating in the so famous Silicon Valley technopole of San Francisco, will be visiting Algeria next February for set it up of a project aimed at coaching start-ups (innovating businesses) in Algeria.

In this framework, a forum will be grouping respectively ministries of the Industry and Post and TICS, the national Agency for the support of jobs to young people (Ansej), banks and the delegation of the Algerian engineers of Silicon Valley, indicated said Algerian ambassador to Washington, Mr. Abdallah Baali. 

The Algerian delegation of managers will be composed of specialists operating mostly in big American corporations including Apple, Google, Cisco, Oracle, Intel, hewlett-packard, as well as Algerians that manage their own businesses such as Mr. Belgacem Haba, nicknamed “the man with 200 patents ” according to the president of the Algerian-American Business Council, Mr. Smail Chikhoune, during the two days of this forum, the participants will elaborate a mid and long term “road map” with a well defined program to promote Algerian young businesses in activity or creating specialised engineers in new technologies.  For the set up of this project,  the creation of a funds for investments will be proposed. The fund’s role consists of financing the start-ups and the coaching.

According to Mr. Chikhoune, 5 from the 15 projects exposed will be start-ups. The five projects were innovative reached excellence, notably in the field IT software. It has indeed been extremely difficult to decide between the 5 shortlisted but the Djelfa candidate finally got the best score.
