A National Contingency Plan to Combat “Influenza”, “Ebola” and “Corona” Viruses
A national plan designed to prevent and to alert against the introduction into the country of diseases of latent risk, such as “Ebola”, “Corona” virus and “H1N1” flu fever, has just been launched from the province of Ghardaia insouthern Algeria,announced Wednesday morning, Professor Smail Mesbah, Executive Director ofprevention at the ministerial Department of health, during a program broadcast by the French-speaking channel 3 of the Algerian Radio.
Professor Smail Mesbah also expounded in his radio statementthe content of the string of preventive measures adopted by the health authorities to combat seasonal flu saying 2 million doses of vaccines were imported of which 90% had already been administered.
With regard to the “Ebola” fever and the “Corona”virus, he said that the risk of the latter spreading to the Algeria must be taken seriously, whileannouncing thatstringent health controls have been strengthened at all border crossings, as well as at all the airports and ports of the country.
Concerning the suddenreturn, during this period of winter of the seasonal flu, Professor Smail Mesbah saidthe health authorities had already worked out a program for the
vaccination of those persons “at risk”, as well as the monitoring and the taking in charge of all influenza-affected people in the various hospitals and health centers of the country.
He recalled in this connection that serious forms of this flu epidemic affected in 2014, 227people including 27 patients who have died because of unexpected health complications.
