AADL agency to revive participative housing projects
The housing ministry set a black list for real-estate promoters who did not respect their commitment in the participative housing program. The projects will be attributed to the AADL agency while a lawsuit will be filed against 29 of them.
According to figures released by the ministry, a total of 29 real-estate promoters failed in building 2,334 houses. Because of that, their projects were withdrawn and attributed to the AADL. They will not be allowed to conduct any project anymore.
Sources at the ministry said 41,092 houses will be distributed in a number of provinces by next June.
Earlier, the housing minister Abdelmadjid Teboune said 123,500 houses out of 297,813 scheduled units were built. The construction of 142,037 houses have not been achieved yet.
These projects are part of the 2009-2005 program as the participative hosing program was proposed as an alternative for the rental housing projects.
In 2012, the government banned the participative housing program due to its complexity and wrongdoings committed by some private real-estate promoters.
