Abada: “Belayat is an “octopus” prone to lay his tentacles on FLN party structures”
An FLN party dissident, Abdelkrim Abada, has affirmed that the current internecine power struggle within the FLN party could lead the party to disunity, chaos and implosion if speedy remedial measures are not taken to straighten out the situation.
Mr Abada’s comments came in reaction to the recent controversial decision by the FLN Politbureau coordinator, Abderrahmane Belayat, to overhaul the FLN structures within the National Popular Assembly by coopting certain FLN MP’s deemed as “illegitimate” by numerous disgruntled deputies.
The latter have dubbed such a baffling move as totally in contradiction with the rules and procedures and denounced Belayat’s unilateral decisions as over-bearing and null and void touching off a bitter row within the various layers of the former single party.
Mr Abdelkrim Abada also blasted certain unnamed ministers still sitting on the FLN politbureau, saying that they should step down because they were only keen “to grab more and more money from the FLN party’s coffers”, as he put it.
Mr Abada, who is also a member of the FLN central committee, stressed that such an untoward situation should not continue at the expense of the real FLN militants.
Mr Abdelkrim Abada vehemently castigated Abderrahmane Belayat for his dilatory manoeuvres by branding him as what he called an “octopus” intent on putting his sprawling tentacles on the FLN party’s top rostrum.
