First man in the banned FIS party, Abassi Madani and his deputy, Ali Belhadj, called upon all political forces in Algeria to put aside their differences and lay a basis for a meaningful dialogue, to save the country from the risks, suggesting a national and positive meeting to look for commonalities which gather parties and not divide them, and which unite and do not disperse, in order to discuss the way to take Algeria finally out of the deepening crisis, and to agree on a transitional stage which involved all groups of civil society for the drafting of the Constitution, without exception or marginalization, including the Islamic Salvation Front, and called upon people to be more vigilant against the serious situation that Algeria is experiencing.

The two men, who have signed a statement that was published on the website of the banned party on Tuesday, called “FIS Statement on the crisis in Algeria”, the situation in the country, especially what is related to the arising conflict between the wings at the top of the pyramid of power, for what they called taking governance, and its transformation into a raging war that becomes a threat to the national and regional security of Algeria, and even international, according to the statement.
“Algeria is noticing a critical stage, and is facing a danger on the future of the country and the people, reaching a political stalemate, rotten social situation and security deterioration, which may foreshadow an imminent social explosion. The absence of the President entirely poses a big question about who is conducting the country in this dangerous stage.”
“Remarkable security deterioration that moves from region to region, similar to the bloody and painful events of Ghardaia, which occurred under the absence of full political presence by authority, and being sufficient to use security processing that failed miserably is a proof that things are not going well in Algeria.”
“Popular boiling and high frequency of social protests, and its expansion to all sectors, as a result of the failed policy, and dependence on painkillers and buying the fragile social peace through distributing part of the money that is no longer giving fruits is also an evidence that things are not going well in Algeria.”
“Strikes that paralyze many sectors, especially the Education Sector is another proof of the flagrant violations of the rights of the Algerian citizen, and freedoms in general, and leaders of the Islamic Salvation Front, which is deprived of the political and civil rights especially. Before this unprecedented disastrous situation in the history of independent Algeria, which exacerbated after the rape of the people’s will in 1992, the wise people agree that the hour of radical change of the system has sounded, and is no longer tolerating the delay, because it brought the country to the brink of collapse”.
