Abdallah Djaballah to Echorouk: “Islamists' victories in Arab countries widely expected”

The leader of the Front for Justice and Development (FJD) (still non-approved political party) Mr Abdallah Djaballah has affirmed that the Islamists are the most likely political force to take over peacefully the reigns of power in most Arab countries.

• The leader of the Front for Justice and Development (FJD) (still non-approved political party), Mr Abdallah Djaballah,  has affirmed that the Islamists are the most likely political force to take over peacefully the reigns of power in most Arab countries in the wake of the so-called “Arab Spring revolutions”.

• He cited in this connection the clear-cut election victories secured by Islamist parties in Tunisia, Morocco and probably in Egypt where the wind of a salutary change is blowing after decades of autocratic rule, he said.

• Mr Abdallah Djaballah described this reversal in  situation as “quite normal” adding that the western countries had now altered their vision of the Islamists notably in Arab and Muslim countries.

• The Islamist parties have a broad-based popular support and they are the most suitable to guide their peoples, Djaballah told Echorouk’s Forum stressing that peaceful political change was quite necessary also in Algeria where the grass-roots Islamists should have a rightful say in their country’s affairs, as he put it.
