Abdelmadjid Tebboune: “The Algerian People Have Finally Decided On The Issue Of Identity”

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, confirmed, on Monday, that choosing the date of the first of November for the referendum on the draft constitutional amendment carries a message that the Algerian people have finally decided on the issue of identity.

This came in a message to the participants in the international forum on the topic “The constitution in the service of the citizen. Major axes of the constitutional amendment”, which was read on his behalf by his advisor for legal and judicial affairs, Bouelam Bouelam.

The President of the Republic explained that choosing the date of November, 1st is “a message that the Algerian people are united by national and religious values embodied by the stances of the eternal liberation revolution, the first of which is the statement of November 1, 1954”.

“It is a message that shows everyone that the Algerian people have finally decided on the issue of identity and are all determined to preserve their stability and thwart all attempts to sow confusion and suspicion among them, looking forward to building a prosperous future within the confines of peace, security and stability”, Tebboune added.

“The elements of national identity should not be prejudiced in the next constitution, and therefore it cannot be presented again to political debate and is not subject to controversy”, he asserted.
