Abdelmadjid Tebboune: “The System Of Government Must Be Reviewed”

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune confirmed, on Sunday, the need to review the system of government to respond to the aspirations of citizens, through a profound amendment of the constitution to establish the new republic.

He explained in a speech during the first meeting of the Council of Ministers, that “we should build Algeria according to citizens aspirations, and this requires reviewing the system of government by making a profound amendment to the constitution, which is considered the cornerstone of building the new republic, and on some important legal texts such as the organic law related to Election”.

“On the other hand, this requires respecting the ethics of political life by devoting the separation of money and politics and combating mediocrity in management, as the new republic must be based on the establishment of a state of law that guarantees the independence of justice and the promotion of a truly participatory democracy that gives opportunities for social and political progress for all”.

According to a presidential statement, Tebboune confirmed that he made 54 pledges during his election campaign, to respond to the aspirations of citizens, as he gave instructions regarding the preparation of the government action plan and specified the road map for each minister.

He asserted the importance he attaches to the political, institutional, social, economic and cultural aspects, which aim to build a new republic that responds to the aspirations of the people.

The President of the Republic announced, according to the same source, that the assessment of the general situation of the country would be carried out directly by restoring the prestige of the state and restoring the trust of citizens in this government.

On Sunday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Teboune, chaired a cabinet meeting after the appointment of the new government that is headed by the PM, Abdelaziz Djerad.

Tebboune appointed, last Thursday, ministers of the new government led by the Prime Minister, Abdelaziz Djerad, which consists of 39 members, including 7 delegated ministers and 4 secretaries of state.
