- The vice-chairman of the MSP party, Mr Abderrazak Mokri, has called for the withdrawal of his party, the Movement for the Society of Peace, from the three – Party Presidential Alliance.
- He said that the alliance had emptied, as he put it, from their real substance the recent reforms announced in early June by the head of state Mr Abdellaziz Bouteflika.
- In a statement to Echorouk, Mr. Abderrazak Mokri also pointed out that most MSP militants were in favour of a withdrawal of their Party from the Presidential alliance (also made up of the FLN and RND parties) because the genuine democratic reforms promised by President Bouteflika were bound to fail on account of the glaring lack of political will and consistency.
- However, Mr. Abderrazak Mokri refused to pin all the blame for the failure of the reforms on the FLN and RND parties, stressing that the only person responsible for the failure of these reforms is President Bouteflika himself who should take on his responsibilities and salvage them before things go awry, as he put it.
