“Desert Foxes’ Benchikha slides back pressure on Atlas Lions,†says Badou ZAki
Algeria’s national football squad coach, Abdelhak Benchikha, has managed pushing back pressure to the Moroccan camp, following the 1-0 win in the Day III qualifiers to the African Cup 2012, a week ago, former legendry Moroccan goalkeeper Badou Zaki said.
- “By winning such a crucial game, Benchikha has managed sliding back the pressure to the camp of the Atlas Lions, before two months of the second leg game in Casa Blanca,” Zaki told Algerian International Radio.
- Concerning the first leg game of Annaba, Manager of Moroccan first division Kawkab Marrakech said that the Moroccan players lost control soon after the Mauritian referee announced a penalty for Algeria, which Napoli ace Yebda transferred into the winning goal. “Men of Belgian coach Eric Gerets couldn’t react to the goal. Personally, I haven’t recognized our squad, which looked helpless,” Zaki said, adding: “We lost all duels.”
- Former Morocco national squad’s coach further admitted that “Algerians deserved to win, because they were the best on the pitch,” adding: “for now, Benchikha can prepare the next game in good conditions, while Gerets has to rearrange his cards.”
- To recall, the four squads of Group (D), namely Algeria, Morocco, Central Africa and Tanzania, possess 4 points each.
