Ahmed Choubir: “Chehata was utterly off the track and Echorouk's credibility remains intact”.

The renowned Egyptian TV sports commentator Ahmed Choubir has brought clarifications on the misleading statement made recently during a TV sports program in Egypt by Egyptian national coach Hassen Chehata who had alleged that the newspaper Echorouk had warped one of his declarations sparking off, according to him, “discord” in Algerian – Egyptian relations.  

• “Echorouk” rejected such empty accusations and remains flabbergasted all the more so as the newspaper “Echorouk” has, up to the present day, never interviewed Hassen Chehata who went completely wrong by falsely citing Echorouk in this Egyptian sports program hosted by Ahmed Choubir.
• In a telephone conversation from Cairo with ‘Echorouk” Ahmed Choubir, who enjoys a great reputation of moderation and wisdom within the sports and media world in Egypt, said that it was potently clear that Hassen Chehata, Egypt’s national coach quoted “Echorouk” wrongly in his TV broadcast, stressing that the newspaper “Echorouk” remains clearly a model of professionalism and credibility across north Africa.
• Ahmed Choubir also emphasized that he was planning  to visit Algeria shortly to tell the Algerians that football should in no way affect the long – standing relations of friendship and brotherhood between the peoples of the 2 Arab nations which share, he stressed, common deep-rooted values.
