Ahmida Reguigue is a 40-year-old man who was rejected by society as he wanted to enter the world of inventions. In 1991, he obtained three patents. He was the first who conducted audiovisual transmission in 1995 in the province of Djelfa and the first who produced voltage transformers and a gas fireplace in accordance to scientific standards as well as medical equipment. He also invented a small electric car. Yet, he is seen in society as a “crazy man.”

Ahmida who is an engineer in sciences says local authorities did not encourage him when he decided to create an association for sciences and technology.

“I remember that I set up the Association for Sciences and Technology. In 1996, I asked the prefect of Djelfa to provide me with a head office for the association. Doors were closed to me,” he told Echorouk.

The Algerian inventor found himself marginalized in society. “I did not expect such a result from society where people are just interested in cattle and do not believe in technology and modernity.”

If Ahmida was living in a foreign country, he would have been encouraged to concretize his ideas. Today, he is just looking for someone who can discuss a scientific idea or a physical theory with him.
