Aircrew of state owned Air Algerie forced the flagship carrier on Monday evening to ground its planes, after launching a strike.
Spokesman of the aircrew on strike said “some local and international flights have been assured in the morning, including to Oran, Setif and Paris, yet all the flights scheduled for the evening have been cancelled.” The source added: “We are on strike, and we might resume work tomorrow!”
The non accredited commercial aircrew trade union of Air Algerie (SNPCP) has held a meeting in the morning to discuss the failing talks with the company’s head office, and yet decided on the next step to take to force it meeting the workers’ labour and social claims.
To recall, Air Algerie stewards and stewardesses have already marked a strike in mid June, forcing the company to ground its plane.
