Association for the Protection of Air Algérie users, accused the company of practicing fraud and extortion against the Algerians, and exploiting the period of gains in August to raise the prices to more than 500 euros for Algeria-Paris trip.

A statement of the association of protecting Air Algérie users, singed by its head (a copy available to Echorouk), said that the Algerian families, especially those living in France, complained of the high prices set by the company for the month of August, which coincides with Ramadan and the summer holidays, wondering how did the state provide financial support to the company, although it did not offer something to the service of Algerian citizens.

The same statement expressed astonishment about the decision of Air Algerie to raise the prices for the month of August up to 500 euros for Algeria-Paris trip, while the Tunisians and Moroccans can acquire tickets with lower price, as the price of the trip from Paris to Agadir, or from Paris to Tunis reaches less than 130 euros for the same month‬, ‭wondering why did the Algerian pays more than his neighbors‭. ‬

The association talked, in its statement, about a collusion between Air Algérie and other foreign companies that have flights towards Algeria, asserting that Aigle Azur, for example, programmed flights towards the Russian capital Moscow in the range of 350 Euros, but applies more than 500 Euros on Paris-Algiers trip, which is‬ a flagrant collusion to ‭raise prices because of Air Algérie plans‭. ‬

Head of the association, Amr Ait Mokhtar, said that the Algerian authorities completly neglected a demand that was sent previously to Algeria’s ambassador to Paris, at the anniversary of Independance, about applying cuts, that may reach 90 Euros on the airport tax, but the ambassador Maisoum Sabih, who is the oldest ambassador in the world, did not take a decision, and kept silent, at a time millions and billions are spent on fireworks that were imported from China.
