Air Algérie is studying the opening of the lines towards 7 European and African cities, while continuing negotiations with the US authorities on the Algiers-New York line, the representative of the community in the fourth region Europe, except France and the Americas, Noureddine Belmeddah.
The MP, Noureddine Belmeddah, quoted a reply to the Public Works and Transport Ministry, on a written question that was addressed by the MP, saying that Air Algrie is about to open an air line soon to the city of Perpignan (southwestern France) without details of the date of its opening.
The same document explained that Air Algérie is currently studying the feasibility of launching five new airlines to European and African cities, namely Algeria, Amsterdam (Holland), Douala (Cameroon), Libreville (Gabon), Lagos (Nigeria), and Luanda (Angola).
On the Algiers-New York airline, the response of the Transport Ministry carried nothing new except that the delay in opening this line, and this was due mainly to the ongoing negotiations on the necessary licenses, and the opening of air space for Air Algérie, noting that the company was ready to exploit this line.
Public Works and Transport Minister spoke about the suspension of the line of Annaba-Milan of Italy, which did not know an acceptable rate but it did not have economic efficiency, where the percentage was not more than 40% and therefore it was decided to stop it by the end of 2017.
MP Belmeddah explained that the Algeria-Valencia line will be opened on Sunday, June, 17, and it will ease the pressure on Algeria-Alicante line, which noticed great pressure.
Air Algérie failed to launch 13 new international destinations, especially on the African continent, despite the decision to launch 13 international lines, and was a prelude to the new airport project to the capital to be converted to the HUB crossing, but the new airport project is about to be delivered and these new destinations will not be launched.
