AISC: Rabah Saadane Africa’s top coach
Former Algeria national team coach Rabah Saadane was named the African continent’s best coach by the Africa International Sport Convention (AISC) during the 6th edition of its gala event held in Bamako, Mali on Friday.
The principal reason cited for his selection was that he remains the only coach in the world to have qualified teams to four Fifa World Cups, including a junior level participation.
Meanwhile, the fact that all qualifications were secured while he was coaching various national teams of his native Algeria make the achievements all the more significant.
Saadane was presented a trophy to commemorate the honour in the presence of a number of sporting personalities, including some members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at a dinner hosted by Mali’s sports ministry.
