Algeria and France have agreed to bolster the inclusion of expanded French-language teaching in Algerian primary, intermediate and high schools in Algeria through the upgrading and updating of all the relevant educational programs and pedagogical tools for the benefit of all Algerian pupils.

This came out at the end of a working visit paid to Algeria by French Education Minister, Vincent Pignon, who signed on Wednesday in Algiers a memorandum of understanding with his Algerian counterpart, Bana Ahmed Abdellatif, providing for increased bilateral cooperation and exchanges notably through the transfer to Algeria of French know-how and expertise in the educational field.

This know-how is expected to pave the way for the rehabilitation of the national education system in order to make it tally with International standards through the consolidation of its assets and the steady improvement in the teaching and learning methods notably with the all-out use of the new information and new technologies which are scheduled to be expanded in all schools at the national level in the very near future in line with this bilateral accord.
