Algeria: Anti-cheating monitoring services seize 5 thousand tons of rotting meat and foodstuffs
The anti-cheating monitoring services have succeeded in confiscating about 5 thousand tonnes of rotting meat and various foodstuffs in the three central provinces of Algiers, Boumerdes and Tizi Ouzou only a week to go before the holy month of fasting of Ramadhan.
-
The seizure operation was spearheaded with success by 300 agents mobilized to this effect in the past ten days across these three major provinces with a large population.
-
-
The seized rotting products were destined to be sold by unscrupulous and venal tradesmen during the holy month of fasting of Ramadhan.
-
-
The confiscated products which went bad owing mostly to a lack of proper refrigeration include meat, foodstuffs, cheese, olives, fruits and vegetables and other perishable goods.
-
-
The offending tradesmen also faced large fines for having contravened the law and the regulations in force.
