“This giant step aims at ensuring better performance of marine forces in rescuing illegal immigrants, commercial, ships and fishing boats,” General Rachid Ben Sassi told Echorouk in an interview.
-
“The six lifeboats can contain more than 20 people abd are equipped with the most sophisticated detectors and quick intervention devices,” he added.

Those boats can not sink in any weather conditions even if they are overturned by strong water storms, according to the coast guards commander.

“Two of them are operational while the four others are due to arrive soon,” he said.
