Algeria: Erdogan ignored colonization criminalization
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Algerian counterpart Abdelmalek Sellal.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan finishes his visit to the Arab Maghreb on Friday after he had signed many bilateral agreements meant to reinforce Turkey’s position in the Mediterranean Sea from North Africa.

Erdogan ignored the colonization history and occupation condemnation. He did not announce the cancellation of visas in favor of Algerians.

He inaugurated investment projects in iron and steel sector. An iron factory was set up in the province of Oran (west of Algiers) worth $750 million. Algeria and Turkey agreed on extending energy agreement for 10 years.

A cooperation agreement was signed to allow 7,000 Turkish nationals living in Algeria to benefit from social security.

Erdogan said his country has the intention to go beyond 5 billion in terms of trade exchange. Of them, Turkey plan to go from  3 billion of Algerian gas exports to $10 billion. It also wants to increase its direct investment in Algeria to $1.5 billion from $1 billion within the next few years.

Algeria relies on Turkey to revive its industries including textile, cars and food industries.

Algerian and Turkish aviation officials work on raising the number of trips between the two countries.

On his visit to Morocco, the Turkish Prime Minister signed a “common political announcement” to create a strategic cooperation council between the two countries. Two agreements were signed between Moroccan transport ministry and its Turkish counterpart in maritime sector.

In Tunisia, Erdogan signed a number of bilateral agreements in diplomatic, security, economic, educational and cultural fields.
